The 5.2 patch brought us two new world bosses as well. I'm pretty sure most of you already tried your luck with Oondasta. (The second boss is not available yet)
This world boss is located on the Isle of Giants, the island filled with dinosaurs located north of Kun-Lai Summit. Basically you need multiple 40man raids for this boss and usually there are around 100 people fighting it.
One hundred people may sound a lot, but it isn't. Let's face it. Oondasta it's a huge armored dinosaur that shoots lasers! So yeah, you'll need as many people as you can find. The loot is shared so you wont have to worry about tagging.
Even if you can loot the boss only once per week, I saw a lot of people going there over and over again. I had no idea why, but I found out soon enough: It's a total chaos there, and people seems to like it!
Just check out these screenshots:
The first image was the one I took while being dead on that fight. Trust me, you will die there, be prepared for that.
The second one is a screenshot from a Chinese realm. They have tomb stones instead of skeletons (I had no idea) and this image went viral already.
Those are a lot of deaths. I think the last time I saw so many "casualties" was at the opening of the Dark Portal, when the Burning Crusade was launched.
Have you killed Oondasta already? Are you planning to do so? Did you expected to see such a world boss?

I have. There were almost 4 full raid groups. Which, IMHO, is not the best way to do it. I think it can be done with only 1 group and that might make it WAY much easier to down him, cause there are more space for people to spread out. Besides, with 3+ groups, tanking him on the beach (because of the shorter corpse run) is almost impossible because after a couple of deaths, one will almost be insta-killed after rezzing.
But hey, it would be so much more easy if the damn dps could have waited for him to be properly positioned (at some point, I started fishing and watched the wipefest and laughed so hard at the talk in General - that made it SO worth it!).
You are right about General chat. It's pretty funny most of the time. I should have mention about it in the main post
I tried it once with about 80 horde.
Then of course effing alliance people show up and ruin the whole thing by pulling it. Alliance on our realm are just a-holes.
