MoP Beta - The Kun-Lai Summit Preview

We already wrote about the Jade Forest, Valley of the Four Winds and Krasarang Winds. Now is time to take a look at the biggest area in Pandaria: Kun-Lai Summit.
We already encountered most of the enemy forces, like the Horzen, Mogu and Sha, in the previous areas, but there are still new ones waiting for us in Kun-Lai Summit.
Here is where we’ll meet the Sha of Anger, another new world boss. I didn’t fight against it unfortunately, but there was something interesting I noticed about this huge Sha. It has multiple spawn points, and currently it looks to me that it can be in more places than one at the same time. This may be just a Beta glitch though. Another interesting thing is that every time it spawns, the Sha gets surrounded by the nearest creatures which turn into a little army of corrupted elites. If I have the opportunity I’ll see how the fight goes, but I think this fight requires a nice level 90 party.
The Youngols are tauren like creatures that are taking over most of the pandaren settlements in Kun-Lai summit. Following the quests lines, they are the first enemies you’ll encounter after you step into this new area. You’ll help the Pandarens retake their villages, and you’ll also help building an alliance/horde camp in this area.
In this area we will meet the Zandalari trolls as well. They are messing with some Mogu remains and you’ll have to discover what they are up to and of course, fight them. You’ll have to follow the trolls back to their huts on the shore, where, after helping some pandaren villagers who were unlucky enough to be in the Zandalari’s way, you’ll get to know what the trolls want with the Mogu remains.
There are a lot of quest hubs, and after completing the first couple you can choose for yourself what questhub you want to go to next. The area is not linear at all and makes questing a lot of fun here.
You’ll be happy to know that the tradition of poo quests is continued this expansion! If I remember correctly, starting with Redridge Mountains quests back in Vanilla, every expansion had a quest where you had to deal with some mob’s “droppings”. You’ll have to deal with this once more. This time goats are the evil culprits behind this smelly mischief.
Right in the middle of the region is this huge snowy mountain peak, mount Neverrest (I personally quite like the name!), which you can actually ascend by foot.
Around the mountain you’ll encounter little villages (tents mostly) of grummles. They are some funny little panda-like creatures with huge backpacks. Most of them are guides and always carry and things between villages enabling trade. You’ll help them and they will help you in return. They have one little downside though, if you ask me; they talk too damn much!
The mountain is filled with various mogu temples and graveyards, but it also hides the Temple of the White Tiger and the Shado-pan clan.
Two more areas are left to explore. Check back for our future articles on these areas and you’ll read about them as well.
