During installation of the expansion, you'll be able to upgrade the World of Warcraft account you play to allow access to Wrath of the Lich King. You can click here to upgrade as well.

. Even us (wowjuju staff) were "stuck" on Northrend leveling mostly.
Seems like most of the people who ordered the game already got it (there were some nasty problems when Burning Cursade came out) and most of the servers are working splendid. There were some 800-900 queues on some very high populated ones but Blizzard already opened a
new Realm for US players- Grizzly Hills and started some free transfers: for
EU players and also for
US ones.

Twinking and WotLK
SourceBattlegrounds will not award experience with the launch of Wrath of the Lich King. We have spoken about wanting to implement a system through which experience gains will be significant enough in PvP to make it a viable system for level progression. There is still a lot of discussion about this taking place internally, and we'll share more information when it's available further down the road.
Smooth WotLK Upgrade
SourceTo ensure a smooth transition to Wrath of the Lich King, we recommend that players who have newly upgraded their accounts, log into the game and log out completely for a short period of time in order for their account to fully update.
Icecrown Citadel
SourceThe Lich King will be the last boss for Wrath of the Lich King. Icecrown Citadel will come in one of the last major content patches for this expansion.
