  • Blood Queen Lana’thel will now begin her flight phase a little earlier in 25 player mode, Vampiric Bite is no longer mitigated by armor, and the damage of Vampiric Bite has been reduced.
  • Toravon will not be affected appropriately by Area-of-Effect damage spells.
  • The Frost Orb corpses in the Toravon encounter will now despawn faster.
  • Players who are dead will now get credit as intended when defeating the Valithira Dreamwalker encounter.
  • Players can no longer zone in while the Valithria Dreamwalker encounter is active.
  • Anti Magic Shell no longer resets the Mystic Buffet stacks in the Sindragosa encounter.
  • The Val’kyr in the Lich King encounter are no longer affected by Death Grip and will head to ledges faster.

Disabling Saronite Bombs

This hotfix was added because some guilds used to exploit the Lich King encounter. When Ulduar was launched Exodus guild was Suspended for 72 hours because they used an exploit for that fight. We'll see what will happen this time...
UPDATE: Here is the official Ensidia statement about this matter and their world first kill.

We just made a hotfix that disables the siege damage dealt by Saronite Bombs and the Global Thermal Sapper Charge. The siege damage of the bombs was causing the Frozen Throne platform to rebuild, which greatly decreases the difficulty of the encounter.
We'll reenable the siege damage in a later update when the issue with the Frozen Throne is fixed.

Saurfang Hotfix

A lot of people reported that Saurfang in 25man encounter became a pain because he was getting blood power much more faster than before.

We've just deployed a hotfix that reduces Saurfang's blood power gain from ability damage back to 3.3.0 values. There was also a minor visual range issue with Blood Nova that was fixed.

I wouldn't blame Ensidia for Saronite Bombs exploit. Ok, they got world 1st by using that but that's Blizzard's problem. They should have "fix" that before launching the encounter. The ones who I'd consider exploiters are he ones who will use this after finding our about the bug.
Still, I admit that is not fair to others that they got the world first kill by using that exploit...

Dunno what to say rly and I'm curious what the solution to this problem will be.

I do think it's pretty lame that the boss of WotLK can be killed on patch day. I hope the heroic modes will last longer than that. Tongue Not that I'll ever experience the encounter but it's just the idea that he was this 'easy'.

Its not an exploit, its a creative use of game mechanics.  Now that Blizzard 'fixed' it, it is now an exploit.  It is like russian roulette on the top end encounters.  Do we use everything available to us, or do we limit our creativity.

I'm not saying that they shouldn't have done this and I am sure that I would have done the same thing because it was not yet clear it was an exploit. I encourage every creative usage of game mechanics and this certainly fits in that bracket, but that doesn't make it less of an exploit.

And I'm not too sure about the russian roulette metaphor, I really hope high end raiding is more strategic than that. Tongue

Something is an exploit once Blizzard declares it as such.  I'll use Mind Control for example.  In the battlegrounds, a priest could use mind control to kill people by throwing them off of very high places, such as the lumber mill.  Another thing that mind control could do was force people out of the battleground by walking them thru the instance portal.  The person that got walked thru the portal would be flagged as a deserter and have to sit for fifteen minutes before requeueing.  In this case, the victim would be told it was a creative use of the game mechanics.  This form of griefing was not punished, but eventually fixed.

In the case at hand, Blizzard didn't conceive that this would occur.  They did not code against this possiblity, nor did they determine that this was an exploit until after it happened.  Ensidia utilized a creative use of the game mechanics to beat an encounter.  High end raiding pushes the limits of the game.  They down bosses with much less gear than the average raiders, but the get the benefits of buggy encounters to beat.  I used the Russian Roulette analagy because being creative could possibly push a raid past the line between creative use and exploitation.  Besides this case is minor compared to their downing of Lady Vashj.
