Children’s Week Guide

The Children’s Week is a once a year world event in World of Warcraft and it starts on April 28th and end May 5th. This guide was updated in 2014 and is based on 2013 Children’s Week. Whatever the changes will take place in 2014 we will update the guide as soon as possible.

In this guide we will cover:

 Children’s Week quests

Alliance questsHorde questsNeutral quests

Stormwind: Human Orphan (Randis)

To adopt this orphan and start its quests you have to go to Stormwind and talk to Orphan Matron Nightingale (56,54). She will give you the first quest (Children’s Week) and also the Human Orphan Whistle to call your orphan (you’ll need this for most of the quests and achievements).

Once you complete that quest you’ll receive three more:

After these three quests another set of quests becomes available:

Now for the final quest:

Shattrath City: Draenei Orphan (Dornaa)

Head over to Shattrath City and speak with Orphan Matron Mercy to receive the first quest (Children’s Week) and a new orphan to take care of along with a new Draenei Orphan Whistle.

After you complete the first quest you’ll be able to complete these as well:

After all these three quests are done, you’ll get two more:

And now for the final quest:

Orgrimmar: Orcish Orphan (Grunth)

To begin the quests you should go get your orphan from Orphan Matron Battlewail (58,57) from Orgrimmar and also receive the Orcish Orphan Whistle to call your orphan if is not near you (you’ll need this for most of the quests and achievements).

Once you complete the first quest (Children’s Week) a new set of quests will become available:

After you are done two more quests are available for you:

For the final quest:

Shattrath City: Blood Elf Orphan (Salandria)

Orphan Matron Mercy is the one you have to visit in Shattrath City to receive the new Blood Elf Orphan Whistle and the orphan you have to take care this time, along with the quest (Children’s Week) of course.

Once you finish with the first quest you’ll get three more:

After these two more quests await you:

And for the final quest of this chain:

You can only complete one of the chains per year and of course you’ll get only one reward (see the rewards below). First head over to Orphan Matron Aria in Dalaran and make your choice.

Oracle Orphan (Roo)

The first set of quests are:

The next set of quests is:

The final quest is:

Wolvar Orphan (Kekek)

The first set of quests are:

  • Home Of The Bear-Men – The Biggest Tree Ever! – Take the orphan to Grizzlemaw, located in Grizzly Hills (49,43).
  • The Bronze Dragonshrine – Take Roo to Bronze Dragonshrine, located in Dragonblight (72,40).
  • Playmates! – Now go to Winterfin Retreat, located in Borean Tundra (43,13).

The next set of quests is:

The final quest is:

Children’s Week items

The rewards of this event are mainly companion pets. So those of you who are collecting them, or like the Battle Pets or simple want to make a profit by selling them, here is what you can get by completing the quests of the Children’s Week event.

The rewards are as follows:

From Orgrimmar/Stormwind final quests:

From Shattrath final quests:

From the Dalaran final quests:

Remember that you can pick only one reward. If you want the other pets you can wait one year, buy them or do the quests again with some alts.

Children’s Week achievements

The order is pretty random but this is how I completed them. Make sure you take the first quest where you receive the orphan whistle because most of the achievements require your orphan to be by your side.

Aw, Isn’t It Cute? – If you follow the quests you’ll get at least one pet as a reward. Just right click on it and add it to your pet journal and you’ll complete this achievement.

Bad Example – You must have your orphan next to you and you have to eat the following sweets:

Home Alone – Pretty straight forward. Use the Hearthstone while your orphan is out.

Daily Chores – Yet another simple achievement. Complete any daily quests while your orphan is around.

School of Hard Knocks – Here you have to join and fight in a couple of Battlegrounds and complete some tasks in each one of them. Oh, and again the orphan has to be present.

  • Assault a tower in Alterac Valley
  • Capture the flag in Eye of the Storm
  • Assault a flag in Arathi Basin
  • Return a fallen flag in Warsong Gulch

Hail To The King, Baby – You have to defeat the final boss of Utgarde Pinnacle while your orphan is watching. You can do this in either Normal or Heroic difficulty. At max level everything is soloable.

Veteran Nanny – This achievement is NOT required for the Meta achievement and it takes you more than 1 year to do it, since you need to learn all those three pets and you can’t complete it by buying them from AH. Completing this with your alts wont help either.

For the Children – This is the Meta achievement and all it needs is to complete the above ones, except the Veteran Nanny one.

Good luck with your quests and achievements everyone! If you have any tips let us know.
