Hello all,
when I set out to finally get myself a
Jeeves earlier this week I was surprised to see that there are no (easy to find) guides to this sweet robot butler! So I set out, gathered information from WoWhead, WoWwiki etc. and decided to combine it with my personal experiences in a neat format for anyone else that might want to obtain their own robot butler.
Note that you need at least 450 engineering to learn the
schematic so I'm going to presume your engineering is at 450 in this guide.
Obtaining the SchematicThe schematic is salvageable from most mechanical units that roam Northrend. Salvaging is comparable to skinning as in that you loot an empty corpse. Most of the time you'll loot vendor trash and possibly some engineering materials. The droprate for this schematic is unusual as it increases as the level of the mechanical unit increases. This means that
Sentry-bot 57-K will hardly ever yield the schematic and that
Flame Leviathan will drop it more frequently.
From what I have gathered (I got mine in Ulduar of the
XT-002 Deconstructor) the most efficient place to farm this schematic is in the Northern regions of the Storm Peaks, just south of Ulduar. The
Library Guardians that..guard the library there seem to have a decent chance to drop the schematic. As a bonus the Guardians have a chance to drop
SCRAP-E Access Card which starts a quest that rewards you with this
schematic that is pretty useful by itself and you'll need it to create the 20
Scrapbot Construction Kits needed for Jeeves.
Other Required SchematicsField Repair Bot 74A;
This schematic can be learned in the Blackrock Depths instance. You learn this schematic from an item in the room of
Golem Lord Argelmach. If you don't have the
Shadowforge Key either complete the
questline that rewards the key (
Here's a neat video walkthrough if you don't want to figure it out yourself)/bring someone that has the key/bring a rogue with a lock picking skill of at least 250/bring a couple of
Large Seaforium Charges or anything more powerful and blow your way through!
Enter the instance and go left, through the gate. Head right and go through the gate you see there. Go left and go through the gate on the left. You're now in a room with a huge gear and a staircase to the right. Below the gear there's a lock which opens up the walkway to the boss' room. These instructions may be a little vague but they worked in the past. I might update them sometime to make it easier to follow.
Field Repair Bot 110G;
This schematic is dropped by
Gan'arg Analyzers. They're found around Ogri'la near the
Apex Relics.
Here's a map showing the 4 relics on the Western plateau. The drop chance seems to be decent, didn't take me too long and others report 20-30 kills most of the time. The chance shown on WoWhead is incorrect since it will only drop for engineers that don't have the schematic yet and WoWhead records all kills and drops and derives the percentage from there.
Scrapbot Construction Kit;
This schematic is a reward from a quest chain started by
SCRAP-E Access Card. The item drops from the
Library Guardians that can be found in the northern region of the Storm Peaks, south of Ulduar. To complete this chain you will need 4
Handsful of Cobalt Bolts and 5
Overcharged Capacitors.
Breaking Down the SchematicThe materials needed to
craft Jeeves are;
That's a whole lot of mats. Most can be gathered by mining and the AH. The only material that might pose a problem is the
Fused Wiring. There are several ways to obtain this item: creating them with
engineering, farming mobs in Gnomeregan or destroying
Advanced Targeting Dummies and looting the wirings from the corpses.
Piecing it all TogetherNow that you've got all the materials and schematics it's time to tinker, yay! ^_^
The crafting takes a while, especially Jeeves (50 seconds O_O) but it's well worth it! Bank access, repairs and reagents on a 1 hour cooldown that is not consumed when used.
Closing InfoI hope this helped you out by presenting a lot of the information regarding the crafting of Jeeves in a single guide. I know you can find all the information elsewhere but I personally find it easier to have all info on 1 webpage rather than having to follow links all day.
I'd like to know what you think of it and what I should improve in this guide and/or should pay attention to when writing other guides/articles. You're allowed to think and post that it sucks, but please tell me why. That's something I can use and keep in mind. I can't do anything with "this is the worst guide ever".
