The Midsummer Fire Festival is a once a year world event in World of Warcraft and it starts on June 21st and ends on July 5th. This guide was updated in 2014 and is based on 2013 Midsummer Fire Festival. Whatever the changes will take place in 2014 we will update the guide as soon as possible.

This guide will cover:

  • Midsummer Fire Festival fires location and directions
  • Midsummer Fire Festival achievements
  • Midsummer Fire Festival quests
  • Midsummer Fire Festival rewards
  • Midsummer Fire Festival Boss: Lord Ahune

Midsummer Fire Festival fires location and directions

The bonfires are burning during the Midsummer Fire Festival all over the World (of Warcraft). These fires are the main source of the event currency: Burning Blossom. The opposing faction bonfires have to be extinguished and your faction’s fires will have a Flame Warden next to it awaiting for you with a quest.

Keep in mind that you can only complete these bonfire quests once a year.

Midsummer Fire Festival achievements

Most of these achievements are linked to the fires we spoke about above, but

Desecration of the Alliance / Desecration of the Horde – these achievements include all the desecration fire ones. You just have to extinguish your opposing faction fires (see the fire locations maps) and these big achievements are divided in:

The Fires of Azeroth / The Fires of Azeroth – for these achievements you have to complete your faction Flame Warden quests by visiting all your faction bonfires around Azeroth (see the fire locations maps). These big achievements are divided in:

Burning Hot Pole Dance – next to bonfires and around the Midsumer fire festival tent in your capital cities there is a pole you have to click and spend at least 60 seconds spinning. Well, spinning around that pole  is simple, but you have to wear the complete Midsummer Fire Festival outfit. The items needed are sold by the event merchants and for the complete set you’ll need 400 x Burning Blossom. The buff from this pole is great for leveling, so if you are leveling up during Midsummer Fire Festival make sure you don’t forget about Ribbon Dance buff.

Ice the Frost Lord – you have to queue for the Frost Lord dungeon (only available during this time of year) and defeat him. You can read more about it below.

King of the Fire Festival – for this one you have to visit the opposing faction’s capital cities bonfires (see the fire locations maps).

Torch Juggler – this is you’ll need Juggling Torch and these are available to any event NPC merchant. Keep in mind that you need to complete the both Torch CatchingTorch Catching and Torch Tossing / Torch Tossing quests. We will talk about these in the quests section below.

Midsummer Fire Festival quests

There are not too many quests for this event, but let’s take a look over the ones we have.

The Master of Summer Lore / The Spinner of Summer Tales – these are the introductory quests. You’ll be sent to your capital cities to talk with the Festival Loremaster / Festival Talespinner.

Incense for the Summer Scorchlings / Incense for the Festival Scorchlings – here you’ll have to “boost” any bonfire. Pretty straight forward.

A Thief’s Reward / A Thief’s Reward – You’ll have to “loot” the fire from all the opposing capital cities. Completing this quest will reward you Crown of the Fire Festival.

Torch CatchingTorch Catching – you have to use the Unlit Torches on a bonfire. When the torch is thrown into the air follow the shadow on the ground to catch it. If you miss is and you are near you’ll suffer some fire damage, but if you catch it you’ll throw it again. You’ll have to catch the torch 4 times in a row.

More Torch Tossing / More Torch Tossing – is the daily quest that becomes available after completing the previous one.

Torch Tossing / Torch Tossing – you have to hit 8 braziers with your Practice Torches. Just wait for the brazier to become active (you’ll see an arrow above it) an throw a torch in it.

More Torch Tossing / More Torch Tossing – is the daily quest that becomes available after completing the previous one.

Unusual Activity – this quests starts from any Earthen Ring Elder (you’ll find them in all capital cities). You have to go to Twilight Camp south of the Blackfathom Deeps entrance on the Zoram Strand of Ashenvale and plant the Totemic Beacon.

An Innocent Disguise and Inform the Elder – are the follow up from the previous one and if will take you in the and back to the Elders that started this small chain.

Striking Back – is the daily quest that becomes available after completing the previous quest chain. Depending on your level you’ll summon various opponents.

Shards of Ahune – this is a quests that starts from an item dropped by Ahune (Shards of Ahune). This quest will reward Tabard of Summer Skies or Tabard of Summer Flames. To have both tabards you have to complete this quest twice and that will require two years.

Midsummer Fire Festival rewards

These items are sold by the Midsummer Suppliers and Midsummer Merchants located near major cities.

Midsummer Fire Festival Boss: Lord Ahune

If you want to face this boss you have to be at least level 89 to be able to queue for it. When the Midsummer Fire Festival starts, open up your Dungeon Finder and select The Frost Lord Ahune.

You’ll have to defeat the mobs that are summoned by him and when he exposes his core you have to hit it with whatever you got. It’s not really a hard fight but if there are only undergeared players it will take a while.

You can queue as may time you like but only once per day the boss will reward you with the Satchel of Chilled Goods.

The Satchel of Chilled Goods may contain:

The boss may drop:
