I know there's a heavy Euro community here. Possibly Asian as well.
I'm from the US, travelling to China in a few weeks to be a tourist and to also meet a friend ;)
My question is, who has been, and what was your experience like? Good / bad / ugly, I'm curious about it all.

Why go there?
To see the country, learn about the culture, and progress my relationship with this woman. I'll be meeting her parents at some point on the trip, and that is usually a sign of bigger things to come. As a divorced guy in the USA, my experience with her has been wonderful and refreshing so far.

Back from China today. If you have never visited, do it! The people are friendly, the hotels/transportation/food is all cheap, the food is excellent, and the women... wow. Of course my chinese girlfriend is amazing, but fellas, if you want a different girlfriend experience, check out china.

Welcome back sevan. I have someone close to me how came from China like 3 weeks ago but unlike you she said the food was "strange" :P

Well, all I can say is that most of the food is quite 'normal' to those of us in the US / Europe. It just happens to be cooked in a different, imo, better way.
They did have some strange vendor foods though... deep fried starfish, bugs, scorpions on a stick... I stayed away from those. My girl and most of the locals there do too. The rest of what they have to offer though is quite amazing. :)
