Along with other modifications and new things, Cataclysm comes with a lot of UI changes too. In this episode you won’t have to read much since the images will speak for themselves mostly.

At first, I wanted to present all the talent changes, but since those are still work in progress and they are very far from finished on most of the classes, I chose not to touch that topic just yet.

I'm sure that we will speak again about UI modifications since Blizzard announced already they have a few more in store for us. Party frames, Raid frames and Guild management UI will get some love ... and maybe a few more elements. But until then, let's see what we can show you...

Character Panel

Major modifications here. Now all stats are visible and your character model is bigger.

Minimap - Multi-tracking

A long requested feature. Now everyone has the possibility to track multiple things on the minimap. Those who love gathering professions can finally pick both herbalism and mining...

Professions Panels

Now whichever professions you pick (I don't think Archeology will be included tough) everything related to them are going to be found in their own tab in your Spell Book. Besides that, the crafting professions panels include a filtering option to help you sort out your recipes.

Spell Book Panel

Your spells and abilities "holder" changed a lot. Now you'll know when you have to visit a trainer and what spells are new to you. Also, you'll know what spells you'll gain when you ding.

Trainer Panel

Your trainers panels were changed too and they look better now. Plus, as a side note, I noticed the spells are less expensive to learn now... or maybe is it just me.

Talent Trees Panel

News about talent changes are all over the news websites now. The 31 Points Talent Trees are a BIG change in the world... of warcraft but like I said at the beginning I think I'll tell you more details when Blizzard will almost finish working on them. Meanwhile you can check the WoWHead Cataclysm Talent Calculator.

Pet Stables

Hunter will love this. More pets to store here and a new look.

PvP Panels

The Ranked Battlegrounds are here and the Arena Tab was changed for a bit. Take a look.

Posted Image Posted Image

Party Frames

They look a bit odd now. Since Blizzard announced a few changes to them, I wanted to see how do they look now. Keep in mind that this is work in progress.

Most of the panels can change in any way, nothing can be considered finished just yet.
What changes regarding the UI would you like to see? Do you like the current changes?

Tabard tab - we need this. It's no different than having a non-combat pet tab, right? They serve a greater purpose in the game anyway.

Multi-tracking - are you able to select every item? I'm not sure why blizzard bothers with 'low level quests' not showing up to higher characters. Quests should be shown as quests, whether they are current level or not, IMO.

I hope the main stream addon creators have beta access so we don't have a complete mess for weeks past cataclysm.

This would be nice to see... But I don't think they care about the players anymore... they are mainly just doing whatever they want to now... I'm rather upset about most the changes they are making across the board.

They usually are, but I think I'm going into Cata with only Bartender activated... and maybe Pitbull, but that's depending on what they do with the unit frames.

Is nasty to see an area full of low quests when playing an alt. If there is a filter for low quests then is just fine for me. Only my Loremaster main have the low level quests filter checked.

EDIT: btw, nice work with these episodes Lucifer :D

Seems very interesting. Really, it's a massive improvement over the current versions in my opinion. It's more..polished, smooth, etc. I think it goes a long way of making the game much more graphically friendly to new players, while keeping the old UI that veterans know and love.

like the old styles better, except the talent trees, multitracking and the new partyframe(would be awesome with integrated mouseover function)
90% of WoW raiding can be summarized in 7 words: "Do not stand in the bad stuff!"

It's really beautifull, but I'm never tired to say it : the interface looks more casual!!
I speak french, so don't be mad with me ^.^
Archimonde (EU) : Evolua (Warlock 80), Hèlmee (Priest 80), Keelliou (Warrior 80), Jeshuila (Rogue 80), and a lot of rerolls!
