The Stonecore is a new Cataclysm dungeon located in Deepholm. Just like Blackrock Caverns you'll see that this dungeon is also very different and completely incomparable with any WotLK dungeon. The entrance is located at the top of the central pillar in Deepholm area.
The dungeon is filled with bright colored crystals. The underground tunnels will guild you to the end of instance, where you'll find the final boss and, like most of the dungeons, an exit portal.

The trash, if you go there at level 82-83, is pretty challenging. Always you have o be careful to pull only one group of mobs and, if possible, to CC some one or two. AoE your way in is not smart. Like I said in our older episodes, maybe after you hit 85 you can AoE this trash, but definitely not now. Most of the trash has some interesting abilities. Is not only tank-and-spank. You have to move out of stuff, focus on different mobs and hug certain charging mobs. I found this trash pretty cool...
There are four bosses in this instance:
- Corborus
Funny looking snake-stone-ring-elemental boss. If you are familiar with the Sandworms from Dune I guess you can find this boss very much alike.
The fight is pretty simple. It has two phases.
The normal one, when the worm is above ground. Nothing special here. Tank and spank mostly.
The underground phase. Here you have to move out of the dusty zones, or you'll be thrown away and you'll get some damage too, plus, you'll have to kill all the little ads as soon as possible.
The entire fight is like this, the boss will swap between phases until he dies.
- Slabhide
Slabhide is a dragon. This fight has two phases also. Ground and air phase (why does most all the dragons do this?).
Even if there are two phases, if you focus on the basic WoW principle "Don't stand in fire!" you'll be just fine. Avoid it's tail and don;t stand in front of it if you are not the one tanking it. Move from fires and from the falling stalactites.
You'll have to move a lot but is a simple fight after all.
- Ozruk
This stone-crystal giant has a lot of hp, but that's about it. He enrages by the end of the fight and the tank needs a bit more healing and for the entire fight he will knock back everyone. Keeping your back to a wall is a good idea if you don't want to end up miles away.
- High Priestess Azil
This is the last boss of the Stonecore dungeon. Again, this another two phase fight. When the boss is high on that stone altar, her adepts will come and she also will hurl big boulders on random people. You can not affect the boss in any way during this phase. You should kill the cultists and be ready for the boss to enter the fight.
On the second phase, when the boss can be hurt, you'll have to deal with the cultists and move away for the big void zones on the ground. I have noticed that those zones can kill the cultists too if the tank pull them in.
The fight is long but interesting. I personally loved it.
