What is Rawr?

Rawr is a program that assists players in developing their character. Some of the things that Rawr will do are:

• Show what gear truly is an upgrade
• Show what gems are BiS for your build
• Show what talents produce the best
• Show what glyphs you should be rockin’
• And much more…

Where can I find Rawr?

Rawr can be downloaded for free at: Rawr Homepage.

How…?

You first need to download the program from their website. The file that you download is a zip compressed file. Rawr requires no installation; just unzip it and you are ready to go.

When you start using it, a welcome pop-up window appears which looks like the one below:

I typically select load from the armor armory, because I’m lazy like that. The load from the armory box asked for the region, realm, and name of the character to load. Once that is entered, the toon is downloaded from the armory and loaded into Rawr.

This is the main page for Rawr. On the left side, Rawr displays the gear, professions, talents, buffs, and stats for my main. On the right side, Rawr displays the items that I desire optimization. In the picture above, the item high lighted in green is what I currently possess. The green diamonds are different gem options for the current item. In this picture, I could improve my head slot item by replacing my gems. All other items are upgrades, downgrades, or side-grades.

In the drop down you can select various options including gems, buffs, talent recommendations, and stat weights. Below is a picture of the talent rankings for my class, spec, and roll.

The best thing about Rawr is the ability to learn how to make gearing, specing, and gemming choices for classes that you are learning. Suppose that my guild has an abundance of healers and are short on tanks. I have no idea how to gear a tank, but I know someone that does:

Unfortuantely, Rawr is designed for max level characters. This can be over-come by stealing the stat weights shown below:

and exporting them to Wowhead

Just group the items by slot and you will know what items you new tank should be rockin’.

Rawr is a great tools for making choices in World of Warcraft. The program possesses too many features to go over in this short amount of space. I hope that you will check it out.

I have been using Rawr for over a year now... It does a very good job if you get all the settings right. It is a good tool for about 90% of WoW players that want to know if item A beats item B. Saying that I believe its a bit clunky for mages... It has everything you want, and all the options you couldn't care about too. I use Rawr for my priest. druid, paladin, hunter, and all the rest... But I have to admit I take the mage info with a grain of salt... It;s possible to set the rotation and everything in your options, but its a bit too hard to get everything to be right.

My favorite part of Rawr though is the filters for gear... I'm never going to see the inside of most raids, only cause Dunemaul is an elitist server, and you cannot get into a raid without already doing it before (damn achievements).. So I can easily tell the program to ignore all the gear that drops in raids, and any BoP crafted gear.

So I highly recommend the program to anyone who is not so casual as they don't care what they wear as long as it looks cool... Also if your a mage and not hardcore into the numbers game I think this might not be the choice for you...

At the beginning Rawr was made for Druids only (if I remember correctly) but now is one of the best tools out there to optimize your characters.
It has some flaws, especially with ultimate gear, but it still a great tool to use.

If you want to take your character to the top I'd recommend using Rawr. You wont regret it.
But first, read out this guide to know what to do ;)

Yeah Lucifer, you are right. This was THE tool for all the cats out there even if the cats back then were a bit useless. I used it since then and I still using it.
