Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest, is the new Legendary weapon added in the 4.2 patch. This is the second staff legendary after the old Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian.

Blizzard already released an official preview of this new weapon. From their preview we learn a bit about the staff lore and that we will have to follow an epic quest line in order to be able to use this staff at its full power.
Like the other legendary weapons, the entire guild efforts are needed to create it. The one who possesses it will be able to transform himself/herself into a member of the Blue Dragonflight and the guild will receive, beside the achievement, a little companion to prove everyone that their guild has such a great weapon. We also know for sure that the new Legendary staff is made for DPS only. I bet healers are already disappointed...

The Quest

First things first... Not everyone is going to be eligible of starting this quest chain. In order to take the quest from the Bronze Dragonflight emissaries located in Horde and Alliance capital cities, you'll have to clear the Blackwing Descent, The Bastion of Twilight, and the Throne of the Four Winds, if you didn't already.
UPDATE: A few changes occurred here. You do not have to clear the previous content in order to take the Legendary quest... you only have to kill a Molten Lord in Firelands and after that you'll be able to take your quest.

After you get the quest you'll be asked to travel to Caverns of Time and speak with Anachronos. After you'll watch the cut scene, the following quest will tell you what you'll have to "collect" if you want to create the first part of the legendary.
You'll have to collect/buy the following items:
The Eternal Ember drop from Firelands bosses. 1-2 Embers per boss on Normal. Most likely you'll be able to buy them from AH also. Sands of Time are already available for you to buy them from Yasmin in Uldum. They cost 3000 gold each.

Using those materials Anachronos will create the  Timeless Eye for you and will send you in Coldarrato, at Tarecgosa. She will lead you through Nexus (a special version of the old instance). At the end of your path inside Nexus, you'll have to use the Eye, assist a cut scene and you'll have to report to Kalecgos at Nordrassil in Mount Hyjal.

Kalecgos will send you inside Firelands to retrieve the  Branch of Nordrassil.
The Branch is only obtainable via a unique encounter in The Anvil of Conflagration (a sub-section of the Firelands) accessed via a portal in the northwest of the open field area. It means that you may only obtain one per raid ID.
The  b]Branch of Nordrassil[/b] is your reward for retrieving the Branch.

In order to enter that portal you'll have to collect 4 charged Foci.
You can create those crystals you'll have to challenge four of the Firelands bosses:
  • Lord Rhyolith - Collect the fragments from the Rhyolite Fragment and charge the crystal by placing it under the boss when he casts Concussive Stomp.
  • Beth'tilac - Get the fragments form the killed Drone (each drone drops 3 fragments), climb to the upper level and place the crystal under the boss when he uses Smoldering Devastation. Jump down and get back up when is safe to get your charged focus.
  • Shannox - Collect the fragments from the destroyed Crystal Traps and place he crystal when the boss throws his spear. Make sure you are close to the impact zone.
  • Alysrazor - You'll get the fragments from the hatched eggs. You'll need 2 ground phases so you can collect all 3 of them. Use the crystal when the boss is on the ground, on the burn phase, when he is at about 90 energy.

Go with all four crystals at the portal and use them. While inside you have to fight a few fellows and receive the branch. Remind your raid to use the dispell wise. Do not dispell before the stomp... Oh, and in phase 3 the player who's doing the quest is the one tanking the boss.

After some unfortunate event, something will happen with Tarecgosa and Kalecgos asks you to allow him to temporarily bind the essence of Tarecgosa with your own. You'll need to collect 25x Seething Cinder from Firelands. These are going to be like the other fragments for the old legendary weapons. See Fragment of Val'anyr for example.

The cinders will drop from each boss when you will have the needed quest. You'll need 1000 of them and each boss drops around 50 on 25N and about 60 on 25HC. The 10N will give you about 20 per boss and 10HC about 25 per boss.

Branch of Nordrassil is going to be upgraded after you are done collecting those pieces into  Runestaff of Nordrassil.
Kalecgos will also become the new Aspect of the Blue Dragonflight...

The final piece of the puzzle will be the  Heart of Flame and you'll get it from, I think you already guessed, Ragnaros.

In order to get the final piece, the heart, you'll have to use the  Runestaff of Nordrassil on the dead boss corpses to gather Siphon Essences. You need 250 essences.
After some nerfs, now the bosses drop: 25N - 5-6, 25HC: 9-10, 10N: 2-3 and 10HC: 3-4.

You'll be able to loot Raggy's heart from the middle of the lava after you kill him.

A ceremony will take place in Stormwind/Orgrimmar for the final staff upgrade. Pretty much Tarecgosa will live within the new staff: Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest.

didnt know that you have to clear all the t11 content but its a good idea for sure. so how about adding this as requirement for even raiding in the firelands? or at least some requirements pls?
90% of WoW raiding can be summarized in 7 words: "Do not stand in the bad stuff!"
