I bet most of you already know that a new "version" of the monthly Faire is going to be introduced in 4.3 patch. Most of you playing on PTR already tested it I guess.

I think that this might be one of the oldest events in the game that suffered very minor changes since Vanilla. All the modifications are huge. It's pretty much a new thing with the same name.
First of all, you won't have to fly to different locations every month to attend this event. From now on you'll be able to take use a portal in order to be teleported to the new Faire. Starting with the patch 4.3, Darkmoon Faire has it's own instance and it's own island. The portals to reach it are located at every old Faire locations.

Like before, the Faire is going to be available every month, for one week, starting with the first week's Sunday of the month. Compared to the old Faire, the new one is HUGE! Not only the location is new, but there are plenty of new attractions too. The entire area is a sanctuary, meaning there will be no world PvP going on there, but don't worry, PvP players are not forgotten.

Quests

Some of the daily quests are made for your professions. If you have all three secondary professions and two main professions you'll have 5 available daily quests for each of your professions. It's nothing fancy and does not require too much running around or any expensive materials. Each profession daily quest is giving you +5 to your profession skill, Darkmoon Game Tokens and Darkmoon Prize Tickets.

The other set of daily quests are for various Faire mini games:
  • Whack-A-Gnoll - This one is pretty funny. It is an adaptation of the Whack a Mole game, but the Gnolls are coming out of barrels, and you'll have to run around with a big hammer to Whack them.
  • Cannon Blast - This is the old canon blast game. Nothing's new here, just a new location. Basically, you'll be launched from a cannon and you'll have to hit the marked spot.
  • He Shoots, He Scores! - You'll have to test your aim here. It is pretty chaotic and you'll have to face the marked target to hit it.
  • Ring Toss - In the middle of the game area is a turtle, with some stick on it's back. You'll have to toss rings on that stick.
  • Tonk Commander - At this game you'll command your own toy-tank and you'll have to destroy some targets on the playing area.
To be able to play these games you'll need Darkmoon Game Tokens. You can get those from other quests or you can buy pouches of tokens from Faire sellers. Beside daily quests there are some regular quests too. Those are rewarding you pretty much the same things, but they also give you +250 reputation each. There are PvE quests and I think everyone is familiar with those, and we also have PvP quests that take place in a Death-match area where everyone is PvP flagged and they have to fight for their goal... and their life.

Prize Tickets Uses

Everything you do at the Faire rewards you with those tickets. With that new currency you can buy mounts, pets, vanity items, accessories, heirlooms (the old ones, nothing new is added here) and old sets replicas. Those replica items are the old level 60 dungeon sets. They wont have any stats and they are here for transmogrification purposes only. They cost 55 and 75 tickets each piece and they are BoE.

Achievements

Since the new Darkmoon is a world event now, it has it's own set of achievements too. They are no different from the ones you are used to from other events and I wont go into details. You'll also get a Feat of Strength if you are already exacted with the Faire. There is no title or anything, just a feat: I Liked the Faire Before it Was Cool.

Is the Faire not done yet?

I was under the impression that are still a few thing to be added to the new Darkmoon Faire... There are some huge tents with some Under Construction barriers and even if you wall-jump to get in they are completely empty. Any of you have any idea what are those tents for? Beside those tents, if you wonder around the Darkmoon Island forest you'll notice some sparkly mist in various locations. If you are going there as a ghost, you'll meet some NPCs that will tell you some interesting stories. I have no idea what are those NPCs for. Do you? Maybe the questing-while-dead quests are back? What do you think?

Personal Conclusions

I personally love the new DMF. The idea of it's own instance is great, even if this place will become extremely crowded on high populated realms. I hope there wont be any crashes when this goes live.
The quests are short and fast to complete, especially the daily ones. Quests like Toss the Ring are pretty strange to complete because the place is crowded and you'll toss the rings from a tent. Is pretty hard to see anything. But is easy anyway to play with your camera.
The +5 to your professions skills is nice too, especially for those leveling. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in one week you'll be able to gain +35 points on each of your professions and that's nice if you are stuck leveling them and you do not like to farm or spend your gold.
The huge impact of the new Faire is on the reputation rewards. From now on you wont have to farm it only with decks. You'll get +250 rep from most of the quests there, and that's a big boost for reputation farmers.

I cba atm to test things out on PTR but the new Darkmoon looks promising.
I'm happy I'm already exalted with them. I wonder if those NOT exalted with DMF can access every quest and stuff...

Stupid question maybe, but what happens if we log out on that island and we log back in when the event is over?

So basically they are buffing the DMF reputation. The Insane title is not what it used to be anymore :(
