I believe most of the people are affected by the long loading screens. A while ago an unofficial suggestion came from a /r/wow user where you had to disable the hardware acceleration from the BNet client. Unfortunately for me that didn’t work at all.
One week ago or so Blizzard officially asked for players’ feedback and details so they can narrow down the problem and fin a possible solution. Some other users change their view distance, some of them reinstalled the game, and some limited their foreground/background FPS. I’m pretty sure that if you are checking Reddit or Official Forums you’ll find some other suggestions as well. Some workarounds work for some players and do nothing for others. For me, nothing worked so far…
I don’t know about you for sometimes it takes forever to pass a loading screen. From time to time I have to kill the process and restart the game.
Now, about the fix. Apparently, by adding this line
SET worldPreloadNonCritical "0"
in your WTF/Config.wtf file fixes the problem. Based on the blue post you have to save the file and restart the computer. I’m not really sure why a system restart is needed, but hey, we can try that.
If you don’t want to manually edit that file you can do this in-game:
/console worldPreloadNonCritical 0 /reload
After that, you should restart the game and maybe the system.
I suggest you use the console command because some file editors can mess up your config file if you don’t know what to do.
I didn’t test this solution yet (I’m at work, *booo*) and I really hope to see some changes because these long loading screens and especially the freezes are not enjoyable at all. Maybe that’s why I play Overwatch more than WoW lately…
